Los Angeles is a city of images, and its brands compete visually. This page is about planning video, social and web creative around one idea, how that works when I am in Delhi NCR and your shoot is in California, and how the nearly thirteen-hour gap shapes the way calls and reviews run.
A visual market with many kinds of buyers
Los Angeles includes entertainment, fashion, beauty, wellness, food, consumer products, creators, real estate, healthcare, logistics and a large technology presence. The people buying in these sectors have seen a great deal of polished content and respond to work that feels specific. They also decide quickly on whether a brand looks credible, often from a phone, in a few seconds.
For that reason, I treat creative and conversion as one job. A beautiful film that does not lead to a clear next step is a good film and a poor campaign. The opposite is also common: a sharp landing page with flat visuals. The first conversation is usually about what a person should feel, know and do after seeing your work.
Seasonality also differs by sector. Entertainment follows award and release cycles, fashion and beauty follow seasonal drops, and hospitality follows tourism and events. Build the content calendar from your own commercial calendar, not from a generic marketing one.
Channels that matter
Instagram, TikTok and YouTube are central for consumer brands, and short-form video is a main creative format. Google search drives local services, and Google Business Profile matters for studios, clinics, restaurants and shops. LinkedIn serves B2B and entertainment business contacts. Email and SMS lists are valuable for direct-to-consumer brands, provided consent is clean.
Creators and influencers are part of marketing in this city. If you use them, agree usage rights, disclosure, approval and what happens to the content afterwards. In the United States, endorsements generally need clear disclosure of material connections, and rules are enforced. Check the current guidance. Spanish-language content also reaches a significant local audience, and deserves a plan rather than an afterthought.
Planning video, social and web together
I start with one central idea and then plan every adaptation in one document: a hero film, shorter cut-downs, vertical versions, still images, captions, a landing page and a few follow-up pieces. Shooting once for every format is far cheaper than discovering later that the footage was framed wrongly for a vertical feed. See Video Production and Marketing Creatives for how this is scoped.
I separate concept approval from final production review. People often sign off an idea in a line and then react differently to the finished edit. A treatment, a storyboard or a rough cut with clear approval points avoids that. It also reduces expensive reshoots, because disagreements surface when changes are cheap.
Reviewing video well is a skill. I send a short checklist before each review: is the message clear in the first few seconds, does it work with sound off, is the call to action visible, and does the cut feel right on a phone? Feedback aimed at those questions is more useful than general reactions.
Being honest about remote production
I work from Delhi NCR. I do not run a crew in Los Angeles. If a project needs shooting in California, you or a local producer would handle the crew, locations, talent and equipment, while I handle the strategy, brief, shot list, edit direction, review and distribution plan. For some work, such as motion graphics, edited social content or animation, the production itself can happen remotely.
Talent releases, location permissions, music licensing and usage rights need to be in place before publishing, and the producer or your counsel should confirm them. I will make sure the brief asks for them and that files are labelled so nothing unlicensed ends up in an ad.
Working across California time
Los Angeles is twelve and a half hours behind India during daylight saving (about mid-March to early November) and thirteen and a half hours otherwise. Eight in the morning in Los Angeles is half past eight in the evening for me in summer, half past nine in winter. That is the practical call window.
Calls therefore happen at your morning and my evening. Review rounds run well on this schedule: you leave feedback at the end of your day, I work on it in my day, and fresh cuts or pages are waiting when you start. If a live session is needed at the end of your working day, that is early morning for me, which I can do occasionally. Written feedback with timestamps for video saves a lot of calls.
Holidays and industry events also change availability. American holidays are not mine, and Indian holidays are not yours, so I share my list at the start and ask for yours. Nothing damages a schedule like discovering a missing approver on launch day.
The first 30 to 60 days
In the first two weeks we decide the central idea, the audience, the platforms and the single measure of success. I review existing assets, because a brand often already owns footage and photographs that can be reused. I then write a production brief covering story, formats, shot list, timeline, review stages and who signs what.
Weeks three to six cover production and editing, with the landing page and tracking being prepared in parallel. The last stage is a limited release, followed by a review of what viewers did next. Timing varies with shoot logistics, talent availability and approval speed, so I give a schedule only after the brief is agreed.
Measurement for creative campaigns is often fuzzy. I define it early: watch time or completion for awareness, click-through and landing page behaviour for interest, and enquiries or purchases for results. Each stage has an owner and a report, so a good film can be judged by what it achieved, not by opinion.
Mistakes common in image-led markets
Spending the whole budget on one hero asset is a frequent mistake, leaving nothing for adaptations or testing. Another is choosing a visual style that cannot be sustained in later months. Another is letting several stakeholders review at once without a single decision-maker. Another is measuring views alone when a campaign needs enquiries, bookings or sales.
Brands also forget accessibility. Captions, readable contrast and clear text help real viewers, and many people watch with sound off.
Another is skipping the raw material. Shoot days are expensive, so a plan for backup footage, alternative takes and clean audio is cheaper than reshooting. Tell the crew in advance which vertical, square and wide frames you need.
Who this is for
This suits Los Angeles brands, studios and founders who need a clear creative plan, strong post-production direction and a landing journey that supports it. It is not for people who want a local crew, on-set supervision from me, or a boutique agency present at every meeting. International clients pay flat USD pricing, confirmed up front.
